Hi there,

I’m Chris Le Galle co-founder of Wicked Comics, which is a voluntary organisation in Malta aimed at promoting the comic scene and local artists. We operate as a sort of independent label and are gathering artists to work on original productions, which we hope one day we’ll be able to publish. Last year we organised the Big Bang at St. James Cavalier, which was a two day gathering for comic enthusiasts and artists, and things sort of picked up from then. This year we are planning to follow up and hopefully shape the event in a more convention like manner. This event is earmarked for June this year.

We are also part of the Virus Project (www.virusproject.com), which was launched this week. The Virus Project is a TV show, and a website aimed at promoting arts and culture. We can upload local comics on the website each week. Besides we have a page in Manic magazine, and another magazine has also approached us to do another page for then. Consequently artists who are currently with us are finally getting the kind of exposure they deserve.

Wicked Comics is currently looking for new artists and writers to bring into the organization, and along with others contribute towards the creation of a solid comic scene in Malta. We should have our own web-site shortly and are currently working on the possibility of producing t-shirts made from the designs of our artists. If you are interested in finding more about us, kindly contact me as soon as possible, cause we’re planning a meeting with new people who are interested in joining are organisation on Thursday 18th Jan 2007 at Inspirations Café in St. James Cavalier, and would like to confirm attendances.
